April 18 will mark the relaunch of Death Row Records with the support of E1 Entertainment (formally Koch Records). WIDEAwake Entertainment who bought Death Row Records, the label formerly headed by Suge Knight, earlier this year will be releasing previously un-released material on Record Store Day in America – a day that is dedicated to raising awareness of independent labels.
A three track sampler is due to be amongst the first releases – the sampler will feature “Hoodstar” by Crooked I, “Pay for the Pussy” by Petey Pablo, and “Do what you do” by Danny Boy.
According to John Payne, SVP at WIDEAwake Entertainment, there are over 7,000 tracks from the likes of Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Jewell, Nate Dogg, Lisa Lopes, Crooked I, Lady of Rage, Danny Boy and many many more.
