Rio Ferdinand injury gives Dawson a deserved place in England World Cup squad

Despite hampering England’s World Cup preperations with Rio Ferdinand’s leg injury, it has given Tottenham’s Michael Dawson a deserved place in the England World Cup squad. Dawson was instrumental in Spurs’ charge to 4th place in the English Premier League and his inclusion is totally deserved. In fact you could argue that despite Michael Dawson being uncapped, both him and Ledley King should really be the England central defensive partnership, especially in terms of form. They play together at Spurs and are far more use to each other than playing one alongside the out of form John Terry.
