I am going to keep this quite short, but really why is Tulisa from N-Dubz a Judge on X Factor? My thinkingis that it’s a bid to keep all of the chavs watching the show. She has no music or business understanding and can’t even begin to be compared to Kelly Rowland and Gary Barlow.
Let’s see what happens now that she has made a complete hash of things by saying she doesn’t know the song “Think” but Aretha Franklin.
Simon Cowell may have made a mistake putting her on this show.
This new Mercedes TV ad is incredible, quite long too so I imagine they will cut it down for actual spots on TV. The clever thing about his ad is it features Michael Schumacher driving a red Mercedes SLS AMG Gulwing… not too much of an insult to Ferrari!!
Since my last post on DofatTv.com, I have been on there a few times and now found that there is DofatTv.com, DofatTv.co.uk and DofatTv.de!! Seems like they have a large global reach. Tony Dofat seems to be building up quite a following!
Some of you in the UK may be views of Eastenders, the rather humourous soap opera on BBC 1. Well if you are I am sure you’ll have heard about Ian Beales antics with Janine Butcher and the sex tape that Ian Beale was bribed with. Well you can hear the Ian Beale and Janine Butcher sex tape from Eastenders below – it’s taken from the BBC website as they are happy to share in this. It really does show how slimy both Ian and Janine are – particularly Ian Beale who has possibly the worst ropey hair cut ever!
Click below for the story and audio from the Eastenders section of the BBC website:
I had a conversation this morning over a coffee in Caffe Nero in Knightsbridge, London, and heard about a site called DofatTv.com, which was founded by multi-platinum Bad Boy record producer Tony Dofat. It reaches over 80 countries worldwide, according to New Media Lifestyles who manage the site.
I am going to check the site out later on http://www.dofattv.com, and am interested in seeing the features it has including rap battles, beauty contests (Dofat’s Yumm e’s), cooking shows, conspiracy theory conversations, trivia contests and virtual recording studio sessions!
I will be posting more on this soon and would like to give a shout out to Tony Dofat, as well as Jack Knight and Alex at New Media Lifestyles – http://www.newmedialifestyles.com
I watched the documentary “Elvis in Vegas” last night and I must say it was extremely interesting, especially the whole issue surrounding Elvis and his manager, Colonel Tom Parker.
The interesting this was that the relationship between the two worked in my opinion in that if it wasn’t for the Colonel getting Elvis the work (movies, residency at Hilton Las Vegas, shows etc) then Elvis possibly may not have been as popular as he was.
However, you could say that the Colonel was in fact only interested in one thing, money, and benefiting off of Elvis’ popularity to get the money he needed and wanted, at the expense of the perception of Elvis and the kind of films and shows he did. Elvis perhaps needed to stand up for himself in front of the Colonel more.
Colonel Tom Parker apparently had addictions to gambling and whilst Elvis was performing he would be betting huge amounts in the Hilton Las Vegas casino, throwing away huge amounts of money. On one occasion it was said that he lost over a £1.25 million in an hour!! So with this gambling issue, Colonel Tom Parker needed to make money from Elvis to fuel his gambling habit.
Towards the end, Elvis became addicted to prescription drugs and alcohol whilst living in Hilton Las Vegas, and started to become lonely. It became quite common for him to be meditating and praying before a show. Elvis apparently even said that he should really be in the church and not entertaining at shows. He was said to be scared of religion and wore a cross, an egptian necklace and a jewish star – This was his method of making sure he made it to heaven.
Overall to end the documentary it was outlined that Colonel Tom Parker and Elvis built Vegas back up! They benefited the whole city and brought it back in terms of tourism!! And Vegas benefit Elvis!
A total of 837 shows in Las Vegas in that 6 years!!!
There’s a documentary on tonight about Elvis in Vegas. It is being shown on BBC Two at 9pm GMT.
I’ve taken the description of the documentary from the BBC website:
“The untold story of how Elvis Presley transformed Las Vegas, but how the same city helped to destroy him.
In 1969, Elvis was at the peak of his powers with a stage show at the Hilton and recordings that crowned him the most famous entertainer in the world. However, beneath the surface his own demons – and the schemes of his celebrity manager, Colonel Tom Parker – were taking their toll.
Based in 1970s Vegas and featuring some of Elvis’s finest performances, home movies and rare archive footage, the documentary reveals a bizarre tale of intrigue and excess, recounted by those closest to him. It shows how the Vegas experience impacted on Elvis’s spectacular shows, his chart-topping recordings, his volatile relationship with Parker and his unusual private life – all set against the glamorous backdrop of a ‘Sin City’ that would never be the same again.
Featuring interviews with Priscilla Presley, Colonel Parker’s wife Loanne, the Memphis Mafia, Tom Jones, Nancy Sinatra, songwriters Leiber and Stoller and many more.”
